Dear
CSGNA Members:
At
Olympus Canada, our goal is to continue creating new and better ways to help
Canadian gastroenterology nurses to preserve and enhance the quality of care
they provide to their patients and to assist them in further developing
their skills, knowledge and expertise.
We are delighted to announce that Olympus is once again partnering with
CSGNA to provide $15,000 worth of educational sponsorship funds for the
national conference in Toronto on October 1 – 3, 2009. This means that 27
CSGNA members are eligible to receive $500 scholarships to attend this
educational meeting.
This year, Olympus is introducing the
Olympus Patricia Coghlin
Scholarship. Patricia was a nurse in Calgary, and this scholarship
has been set up to
honor her
memory and contributions to gastroenterology nursing. One nurse will
be eligible to receive this $1500.00 scholarship.
How
to enter:
You are eligible to
receive an Olympus $500 scholarship if you have been an active member of the
CSGNA for at least one year.
To apply for the Olympus Patricia Coghlin Scholarship, you
must provide a current curriculum vitae and a
personal letter identifying your contributions to your workplace, patient
care, or the CSGNA.
If you are interested in applying for these scholarships, please
submit your application, along with your membership number, to
Palma Colacino,
CSGNA
Executive Assistant,
#224, 1540 Cornwall Road,
Oakville,
Ontario, L6J 7W5.
The deadline to
submit your application is August 15, 2009. The names will be
submitted to CSGNA for a random draw. There will be recipients from Central
Canada, Western Canada and Eastern Canada (exact distribution to be
determined by the CSGNA National Executive). The names of the successful
applicants will be announced by August 30, 2009. Notification will be by
email. The names and photographs of successful applicants will be published
in the fall issue of The Guiding Light.
Olympus is committed to providing continued support to Canada’s
gastroenterology nursing organization.
We look forward to seeing you in Toronto!
Best
regards,
